Nearest light switch
I'm new to this Club and just purchased a 2011 3000RK. We're excited to get out and get camping. We upgraded from a 25 foot pull trailer.
The nearest light switch is in the hall leading up to the bedroom. Has anyone figured out how to get some lights on without fumbling around in the dark?
Also, the trailer does not have an am/fm radio. Anyone have any advice on where and how to install one? It needs to be 12 volt powered.
Thanks for your help

While I am not familiar with your specific model, I can suggest that you may have an electrical control panel as you come into the unit that will have switches that turn on some of the lights.
As for the radio that is easy. Just buy a car stereo. I personally never liked the bulky cheap stereos that they used to put in RVs anyway. They were very cheap, took up way to much room and sounded terrible! You can buy a fairly good car stereo at Wal Mart with a set of good speakers for very little money. It will be easy to install, sound great and take up very little room. I really never could understand why the RV builders went with what they did unless somebody thought the big stereos looked like they were more expensive than a car stereo....sometimes ya gotta wonder about RV designers.......

We placed a battery operated light next to the closet door by the entry. Simple tap, we have sufficient light to use the control panel.

Approx in the time frame of your unit, Montana's came with the "Welcome Home" feature, which turned on the ceiling lights when the screen door was opened. I know we had that feature on our '10 2955RL. Now some had issues with the switch in the door frame and maybe the previous owner disabled that feature. Look on the hinge side of the door frame and see if there is a small push button or maybe a hole where it was.

Ya know that would be a nice feature if they used a motion detecting light

I installed a 12v remote to one of my lights in the living room area. This way I can get to bed and shut off the light laying down. It also works good when out and about, turn it on as your getting in at night.

Where did you get the remote and what brand is it?
