RV Show Impulse:)

Hey everyone, my wife and I just purchased a 2018 Montana 3700LK and we’re excited to hit the road full-time in June, 2018! Anyone have any suggestions on which RV memberships are the best?

Thanks,

Tom and Heather, welcome to the forum - enjoy your new rig! This is a great place to learn and share. I would not be in a hurry to lock in any memberships until you have sampled many of the campgrounds.

We have found Passport America, and Good Sam memberships to be worthwhile. We also have a membership in KOA, but it is questionable as to being worthwhile.
We are reluctant joiners and somewhat reclusive, but you have already found one of two good Montana club sites, so keep up your search. Others will be along with much more information. Have fun in your travels.

II would second what Zack said, we joined one while in Blythe and it was too inconvient to use, as you travel out of your way to use them. pi

Welcome to the forum. Congrats on your new rig!!

Tons of useful info and help is on this site, dont be afraid to ask anything, if you can't find it by searching the forum. Personally I think it is all personal preference, as I shy away from a lot of membership/timeshare type of things.

Good Sam and KOA are the best. We have been members for decades. Also, make sure you have a good road service plan. We use the Good Sam Emergency Road service. AAA offers one as well. Definitely a good insurance policy.

Like many of the others we have Good Sam and Passport America. We also have KOA but really don't use it much. We have used Passport America quite a bit. It was great when we were on a cross country trip and only stayed a few nights in a spot.

We also have the Good Sam Emergency road service and it has really come in handy!

I use Good Sam and KOA, but as someone else said, not sure KOA is worth it. In my opinion, passport america sites are too spread out and off the 'beaten' trail for me if my memory is right. But check it out yourself.
Good Sam saves 10% almost everywhere we stay, so that works out well. Plus 10% off at Camping World if youlive near one.

We bought the same rig over the weekend as well as a show. Congrats!!
We have KOA and Good Sams, though we use the KOA more, we found the Good Sam CG"s to be small and dated (at least in NE area were we camp), but the discount for Camping World with it sort of makes it worth it.

Welcome! Over 12 years of travels we are using Good Sam and KOA the most. Passport America did not fit our travel plans. Great advice from other Mocers. Travel, meet other RVers and enjoy the USA!

Welcome to MOC

As others have said, Good Sam and KOA. We do use KOA quite a lot and for us it's more then paid for itself. Most, not all, KOAs are at least up to a reasonable standard level plus you can accumulate points for free stays. Good Sam is worth a 10% discount in many campgrounds. We haven't used Passport America but may look at what it offers before this year's season begins

KOA and Good Sam. Based on our travel patterns, no other memberships are worth the cost to us.

First of all, welcome!

Like many others, we have memberships with Good Sam and KOA. Good Sam for campground and fuel discounts at Pilot/Flying J; and KOA for the campground discount, points for free stays, coupons, and an easy to use app that makes reserving a spot on the fly very easy.

When we bought our HC I kept saying if I had Montana money yours would most likely be the floor plan we would have gone with.
