Pressure regulator for black tank flush?
Does anyone use one and if so is it dedicated to the black tank flush hose? Just thought it might be a good idea since we always use one on the fresh water hose. But maybe not necessary since it goes to an open spray head.

I hook my regulator to the campground spigot and then use a y fitting to connect both the fresh water and flush hoses. Not sure the flush line needs to go through a regulator.

Everything going to the rig goes through the regulator. We use the flush system weekly when draining the black tank.

I have an old regular I use ONLY for the black tank rinser and use it every time. Have never had a problem with our back flow valve on any of the 3 Montanas we have owned.

Since the spray tube is always dispersing water, wouldn't the actual pressure in the line be less than a closed system? For example, if you put a gauge on the end of a hose and it reads 50psi and then you put a bunch of holes in the hose I think the gauge would now read less than 50psi.

I have done it both ways and now use no pressure reducing devices on the rinse line to get as much flow as I can to rinse the tank.

I use a y fitting at the faucet one side has the regulator on it for the house water the other side has a hose for the black water flush or if i just need water for something.

Never used a regulator, but I also never use the flush without the black tank valve open.

The other end at the tank is open. So you will not have the same pressure build up as you would in your camper where everything is closed up. The only time I would use it is if the water pressure was excessive. Some campgrounds do have high pressure. In those rare occasions I use an older retired pressure regulator.

Thanks for all the inputs. I appreciate your thoughts and suggestions. I will implement an old regulator for the flush line. Seems that is the safe approach.

Seems to me that you want as much pressure as possible to get a good rinse. I vote no on a regulator for the flush.
