Screen Door/Storm Door

I know this topic was discussed earlier, but I am curious as to how the velcro holding the plexiglass held up on the screen doors. Our new camper will be coming in soon and we want to do the storm door thing again. If it works well then I am tempted to ditch the latch idea. Sorry if this is a repeat question.

Sissyph,

We made our screen doors into storm doors with plexiglass. However, I used screws and screen holders to attach the plexiglass. We have been very pleased with the storm doors as you can get more light inside while running the heat or airconditioning.

Here is a link to my website with details of the installation:

Thanks dreamer, that is what we did also. Do you recall the discussion where some recommended using velcro to hold the plexiglass in place... Maybe I am having a senior moment...

Sissyph,

Have you tried to find that old post with the Search engine?? I think I remember it too, but what my ole brain seems to remember is that the velcro was used with a fabric type plastic, not the plexiglass??? But, we all know ole brains! [D:]

Thanks, CountryGuy.... I found it by doing a velcro search. You would think I would have thought of that myself.

Sissyph, I used Velcro to attach the plexiglass to inside of the screen door. Here are pictures (hopefully) - 0.100 Plexiglass, used velcro ribbon and cut in 1/2 and ran along the edges. It holds very well and is easy to remove. I slide it under the couch for storage. http://www.geocities.com/dgullick1/velcrodoor.jpg

Ooops spelled wrong - should be ok now.
