low drain valve question

I have 3 of them under my Montana.What i would like to know is which way is the valve closed?Is it closed straight up and down or side ways?thanks for your help.I`am winterizing tommorow.Sad but true.

I don't have valves in the low drains but I do have valves inside for bypassing the water heater for winterizing. They are closed when the handle is crossed to the tube. If the handle is in line with the tube it allows water to pass. Hope this helps.

Harleyrider, our 2001 2880RL had the valves like yours. If I recall, you want the handle perpendicular to the line to shut off the flow. Parallel to the line to drain.

I think our 2001 had two valves on the water heater bypass, too. The current ones have just one. If I recall, they both work like BigBlue explained. In any case, turn those 90 degrees from the way they are now, assuming your water heater gets water in it now.
