Wow !
Lots of reading.
I have a 2016 Keystone Montana HM 374fl High Country.
Do I have a Montana, a High Country, or some sorta hybrid ?
I'm sure it is a light weight, because of the helium technology sticker by the door.
I have 6 point auto level, not sure how many of my 4 slides are cable, but at least the 2 in the nose are, cheap crappy paper covered wood, as some places are bubbled up, or starting to peel, metal faucets, 2, 15k a/c units, 1 being some kinda whisper quiet.
It also has the heavy axles, morride (?) 3000 suspension, and 16" 110 psi tires.
This being our 3rd 5er, is the best floor plan for us so far. We REALLY like the front living room. It also has wood blinds in the front, and kitchen area.
I would like a cable slide repair kit, or at least a list of parts, so I can make up several. I may have missed it somewhere ?
Are we the only ones on here with a 374FL ?
Haven't seen another listed so far.

people are saying that the HC dosnt have gloss paint. good TV.heated tanks .real wood 12 inch frame. insulation is thinner not true .6 point leveling .mor ride system. Fantastic fans.6 point leveling .my HC has all this.quit trying to justify WY you paid $30.000 more than me. i had the Montana L we loved it. all but the oil system did not work in Michigan winters .we love the electric system.they always work .i have a 2018 HC maybe they started to make them like the Montana L in 2018 if you but my Montana L next to my HC with no stinker you could not tell the different.they are the same quality the only different s is the oil system versus electric and 1500 lb lighter than my Montana L.

If it works for you and your happy with it that's all that counts. We full time in ours and the extra money was money well spent.

To each his own. We are on our 3rd rig. Two Mountaineers and now a Montana. Our choice had nothing to do with insulation or tank heaters or how the slides worked. It was floor plan just like almost all buyers.

My HC has a sandwich floor. 2 layers of plywood or OSB with 2 inches of foam between them.

MHC has PITBS Electric levelers
Norco Slide motor debacle.
Micro vs Micro/convection oven
Fire Place is not as good as M's
More paper covered trim
No Daylight shades
No Chair buddy
rigid hitch
Chinabomb e rated tires
Toss up which stove/oven is better
Less storage under bed

Pluses DW likes the kitchen better and the bathrooms are bigger
The MHC for us, had more trim fall off, more mystery screws on the floor at each stop and more stripped out screws than our M

For us it was all about the floor plan. If we could have gotten the HC 381 floor plan in a higher end unit we would have. Something tells me though that we will see a higher end version of that floor plan before long! Maybe in a wide body too.

Floor plan is the main reason I went HC. Another was I prefer to never have another hydraulic leak, prefer electric slides and auto level. The extra weight on a Montana would have required the biggest PIA, a dually. Cost was not a factor.

Captn we are on the opposite ends. You could not give me a MHC with electric levelers and Norco leaking electric slides. I do wish you all the luck with yours.

My HC is an early 2017 and do not have the leaking slide motors. One good hydraulic leak and that was enough. The smell did not leave, one of the reasons I got rid of that one. I do miss the speed of slide movement. A lot fewer problems with electric slides and auto level for me.

WOW!! I for sure didn't realize our High Country was such a piece of crap according to the 'experts' here.

I think this thead has reached a point where folks are getting a bit carried away and possibly getting into snobbery (which I encountered here when I first joined in '14 tho not now). Whether it's a MHC, Montana, or even a $250K New Horizon, every owner has a reason that a particular brand was purchased. Are they always happy with their purchase - of course not, but sometime very strong reasons exist, not the least is the cost. We are happy with our HC - and yes, it could be newer and, maybe, better but why when it still does what we need it to do ever camping season either at the seasonal or on one of our trips

All,

This thread is nearing 3 years old - we have gone well beyond what the OP asked. The models and equipment of the Montana and HC have changed a fair amount since then. Each model provides a different option for the individual buyer based on their desires - there is no right or wrong.

Probably time to shut this thread down.

Sorry my opinion and experience is not the same as yours. My opinion comes from a bad experience with MHC. Some of that is still ongoing with 2019's still needing drip pans installed.

I am not being snobbish just sharing my experience. Which is what is encouraged to do here.
