Battery Switch

Well we took delivery of our new 3400 last Friday and we are slowly learning its hidden secrets.
I'm still trying to understand why we have a Battery Switch that doesn't turn the battery "off" for some of the systems and does turn it "off" for some other ones???
Anybody have thoughts on this?

Thanks Ken
