over night at Wallmart

I was told you could purchase a directory that not only gives addresses of all Wallmarts, but what WallMarts allow over nighting. Does anyone know where I can purchase one.

thanks, Loi

You can buy the WalMart Atlas at about any WalMart. It will show the addresses of WalMarts and if they have fuel etc. About $6.
I have not had one that tells if you can stay overnight. That may be something new. Most of the time it depends on the local ordinances and the neighbors. Sometimes even if there is a sign some will stay overnight and nothing happens. I always try to honor their wishes if there is a posting. I have even been offered a hookup to their water near the garden dept. That was an exception.

Send a message via Yahoo to NCFischers
The only Malmarts that you can't stay at are those where there are local ordinances (Myrtle Beach being one).

here is a link to a sight that I use that lists all the Wal Mart locations state by state.

http://www.allstays.com/c/wal-mart-locations.htm

Hope this helps you some.

Allstays makes an app for Iphone and I would assume Android that purports to list all Walmarts and wether or not you can camp there. I've found it to be reasonably accurate and they do update it from time to time.

We stay in St Petersburg/Madeira Beach Florida for the winter. You could not pay me enough money to stay in the local walmart parking lot or the one at home in North Carolina, even with a loaded shotgun. And I had tours in Vietnam as an infantryman, as well as Just Cause, Desert Storm, plus some special deployments. If we get trapped without a campground around, truck stop is our choice. And I dont like to do that.

If the Wally World is in a Mall, generally no overnites as it's subject to the Mall rules and regs. Don't ask me how we know.

This web site will give you particulars on where you can park overnight in lots of places, not just WalMart. I've used it and it's very helpful for planning. Phone numbers and everything.

I went to our Orlando, FL Walmart looking for the Atlas and they had never heard of it. My husband went online and found it for $20.00. Still trying to decide if it is worth the price.

We've done Walmarts and Flying J and will never do that again unless it's an emergency. Just purchased a Passport America membership and we already belong to Escapee's and Good Sam and plan on sleeping where trucks aren't roaring all night or I have to sleep with one eye open. Just me, but it wasn't worth the money we saved over using our memberships and I'm just not into pushing until late at night anymore. Being retired means you can get off the road and set up while it's still light outside.

Someone needs to do an Eddie from the Vacation movies one morning in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Empty your sewer tank in the parking lot drain. When anyone gives you a look just hold up your beer and yell "the crapper was full!". LOL!!!

Of course, this is a joke. Please don't really try this at home.

We have stayed at Walmarts all over the country. Never had a real problem. Met some nice people. However, we advise avoiding big city Walmarts as there tends to be more all night traffic.
We always call ahead and ask if it is okay.
