Aero-flo vent covers

Has anyone installed one of these? It says it has 30% more vented area,(vented on 3 sides) easy access for cleaning. It is low-profile design.
Also says it works great for high power fans...so it leads me to believe I could put it on as a cover for my fantastic fan.
I like the low-profile and idea for easy access for cleaning.

I thought these were a great idea. I liked that the top would open for cleaning. They appeared well made and I installed three on my new trailer, about a year later the plastic had gone so brittle that they shatterd and fell to the ground. I had to remove them and replaced them with MAXXAIR of the type that can be installed over a fan.

I wrote to the manufacturer, Camco, complaining of the lack of UV resistance, but never heard anything back. Too bad, because they had a good concept.

You get what you pay for. I'd stay with the MaxxAir and ONLY get the vent cover made for the Fantastic vent. The others are too small and do not allow the vent to fully open and when the Fantastic vent is running at top speed the smaller MaxxAir restricts the volumn of air passing thru and in doing so inhibits the effectiveness of the Fantastic Vent.

These all run about the same dollar wise...Maxxair at CW is anywhere from $24.24-$35.99 sale price. Aero-Flo is $24.99-$29.99 sale price at CW. Maybe one has stronger weather-resistant polymer. Maxxair does have a 3 year warranty whereas Aero-Flo just states many years of rugged use.

We have two Fantastic fan, with the rain sensors. We don't have them covered because the Maxxair prevents them from opening all the way. We also have the small fan and vented in the reading room, we do have it covered with the Maxxair and it works for us. I haven't installed the Maxxair covers on the Cambridge, they are in the storage trailer. GBY.

I have been reading of several people installing MaxAir vents over the Fantastic Fan and was curious about the benefits? I use my fantastic fan frequently to cool the trailer (not warm enough for a/c yet) and have observed it closing automatically during a rain. What would the benefit be of restricting the functions with a cover?

We covered our last fantastic fan and found we did not have alot of debri falling into it with the cover. The rain sensor becomes useless when you have a cover on it. But you can still run your fantanstic fan even when it is raining out with the cover on.

Well the advantage is that it does not have to close during a rain, therefore you can ventilate in damp/wet weather.

The only style vent cover recommended for the Fantastic Vent is the MaxxAir Fan/Mate Model 800. This cover DOES NOT restrict the Fantastic Vent cover from opening nor does it restrict air flow and the Fantastic Vent can be used in any kind of weather. We have 2 Fantastic Vents and a MaxxAir Fan/Mate Model 800 is covering both. Wouldn't have it any other way on those humid rainy days or those mornings with heavy dew.
