sewer smell

When I dump my black water, I have a sewer smell around the trailer and in the basement for a couple of hours. I can not find a leak anywhere. Any ideas?

Doug, you might have a plugged sewer vent. Just my first shot at guessing. Could something else. Either that or you have a small hole in your sewer hose...

We discovered that we had a leak at the top of our black tank. It only leaked when the tank was full and it overflowed into the under belly :-(....

We pulled the underbelly, resealed the tank at the top and, so far, no leaks.

Hope this helps.

How does one check for a blocked vent?

Doug,
Try this.
When you dump your black make sure you close the two grays. Run a couple of gallons of warer in the gray tanks while the black is draining.
Close the black and open the two grays and the water will rinse the black keftover out of the gray lines.
This stopped our problem with smell after dumping.
