Portable Ice Maker on Sale @ Home Depot

I got some good feed back from everyone on ice machines. Thanks!

I called Home Depot this morning and the Magic Chef unit (shown on their website for $199) is on sale for $147.00. Once they're gone they'll be done for the year.

Just wanted to pass it on in case anyone else needs one. This is my husbands Christmas present!

We really love ours. RC just hates buying ice.

We also saw it in Costco, but I cannot recall the price. I think it was $149 or about that.

We got our Mr. Freeze portable ice maker at Costco for $149. The rally trip to Goshen will be the first time we take it in the Monty, but it sure works great at home. I think you will like the convenience.

I am going by Costco or Home Depot to see if they have the same deals here in Alabama. Thanks for the heads up. We really need one of these too.

We tried it out over a weekend trip - worked just great. Jim was VERY happy with a cooler that was FULL of ice all weekend. We didn't even buy a bag of ice to start off with.

I've seen some complaints about some ice makers being noisy but the Magic Chef is pretty quiet IMO. And the ice falling "noise" soon faded into the background.

It's a big hit with us!

We bought one in Costco early in the summer and used it a lot. We keep it in the "basement" or outside so noise is not a problem. We always use store bought water to avoid funky cubes in the bourbon. Only problem is the ice melts fast when it is hot out. One of the best accessories we have. Oh, it was 149.00 back in May.

They make ice great. Ours gives a choice of cube sizes. Keep in mind though that it is a ice MAKER not keeper.

Now you have me thinking.......... I bought a big coleman cooler for the basement of the Monty to get extra cool storage. If I had an ice maker, I could keep the cooler cold for as long as I had 110 hook up. This might be a good thig. The big cooler fits in the back seat of our truck and we take it Costco when we are stocking up on frozen goods.

Do these portable ice makers have to sit still for a couple of hours so the refrigerant settles before you use it? When I pull into a CG I WANT ICE!!!!

We have the Magic Chef from Home Depot. Bought it about 6 months ago and love it. It fits perfect on the kitchen counter and doestake up that much room. We justput it on the floor next to oven when traveling and normally let it sit for 15 or 20 minutes before pugging it in. The first batch of ice is normally a little thin, but after that every seven minutes it kicks out 12 nice cubes. One of those great buys, haven't had to buy any ice since. Also, nice to have to share with your camping neighbors.
