Lost Keys

My wonderful RV Dealer lost my keys and denies it. Is there a simple way to get replacement keys.

If the locks have a key number stamped on them, you can order off the internet. Or a locksmith may be able to make them from a key number. Don't know if Keystone would have the key numbers on record or not.

I keep 3 sets of keys in my truck, and another set in the DW's Expedition.

Most locks have a number stamped on them. I've ordered from this outfit using those numbers. http://www.rvlocksandmore.com/Global...s#.WPjmZXkVC70
I'm not reimbursed by them in any way ... just throwing it out there. Fast shipping as well.

Here's another option:

https://www.rvupgradestore.com/Bauer...-p/31-8079.htm

We had one on our former trailer and have ordered one for this unit. It's very handy - you don't have to carry your keys to the beach or on a hike or whatever.

I thought the storage door keys were common - like only 3 possible keys. The door key is more unique. Might be wrong on this tho.

This was a useful post, just ordered another set, last weekend went camping and left the camper keys at home, glad I had a emergency set in one of those magnetic boxes under the frame, that was a stretch at getting to it. The more keys the better

I went to ace hardware store to have extra sets made. The guy had a heck of a time finding a blank that was close, but found one. And the spares work better then the real ones.

Just in case. I keep an extra set hid in a compartment that isn't locked. Yes I know someone could find them but what are the chances of that.

Last moth I dropped off my 04 2955RL I handed the owner my keys, he said I don't need them. I said it's all locked up. He smiled and said you have no idea how one montana key will open every door and storage compartment. I said show me, and he did.

I had a dealer explain that the top lock is setup for a master key and the dead bolt is the unique key that the dealer can't use the master key on.

Key

Okay but did you know your storage key will open any other storage locker compartment?? It will, When he told me I thought he was nuts. Then he said try your montana storage key on any coach here. I tried it on two and it unlocked them both. Not a very secure feeling.

As far as I know the 751 key will open most any storage/water fill/compartment doors etc. of any camper ever made unless the locks have been changed. The slam latch doors are different along with the entry door. But I don't think there are to many different keys to those either. I keep all my camper related keys on a ring with my truck keys (since it primarily only tows)

Just for giggles, I tried my slam latch baggage door key on a few new Outbacks and it works. Kind of like the old CH761 key. I guess I'll be re-keying my some day.

Yeah me to I couldn't believe anyone with a RV could open my storage bins and possibly my coach door.

true. first Rv I had, I spent time and money changing all the locks. I have upgraded a couple of times since then and realized, if someone wants to get into something they will, locks or not. I don't waste the money anymore.

I also did this. Doesn't look like the original but works smoothly.

Likely a CH751 key.
I changed all mine out to barrel locks keyed alike. Much better.

I can't remember the last time I locked the camper. I don't know if the locks still work.
