Picture window in front cap

Well, might as well have one.
The camera works out great, with the bedroom TV on, you can see it from the kitchen, at night, we can monitor the truck with the TV above the entertainment slide.

Great setup Ozz! We are always trying to determine "what is that noise up front?" Your mod would be a great addition...well done!

That was trickery and deception and was followed by disappointment at the utmost Ozz, (but at least it got me to look at the post!). I was fully expecting to see the most awesome modification in the history of the MOC. (Kidding!!!)

With bncinwy new 3750 it would look like a picture window on the front living room TV.

Bingo
We saw SOB (do not recall brand) at an RV show a few years ago that did have a forward picture window. It had one of those ugly rock guards to protect it while driving down the road, but otherwise looked pretty good. However, as I recall, it had a huge gvwr (well over 25,000lbs)...Camilla and I both wondered what kind of TV would be required to haul it????

I think that was the Alfa, we also saw it. They were very heavy units.

Ozz, you got my attention. Great looking picture on the TV, it looks like a real window when looking at it. I think you might have gotten something started on here.

Ozz…..on edit, here’s a challenge to work on…fix your TV remote so you can flip between the TV and your outside camera!

It is an IR (for night-time viewing) Sony water-proof camera I think they call them 'Glove' mounts, the camera 'eyeball' swivels to aim.
It was only $75.00, pretty affordable.
That is a good challenge, the camera is on the RCA? plug, the TV Sat and antenna is on the regular input, I will see if I can figure out a simple toggle.
An A-B switch might work, but you would have to switch remotes...
Now I will get no sleep tonight thinking about it.

Thanks! I really like it. I am working on it every day now, I can see when someone pulls up in front now.
I think people will be quite surprised that I will be able to see them up front. The camera is not noticeable unless you know it's there. Gets lost in the graphics.

Ozz, your picture window looks great! If I may ask, where did you mount the camera so it's not seen?

It is lost in the graphics, most don't even see it.

Our very first fifth wheel was a used Prowler Regal which had a front living room. It had a very nice picture window in the front cap with a pretty nice looking rock guard. I still miss that feature. We have had 3 (purchased new) fifth-wheels since then, but all were front bedroom. The front living room Montana was simply too large for our use, and (at the time) did not like the opposing couches-- and, of course, it did not have that nice front window.

If you use a harmony remote, you should be able to switch between tv and camera easily...just depends on which level harmony you want to buy. Set it up right, and you can draw the shades and dim the lights too !
