Traveling with ice maker & coffee maker on counter top

We are looking at ways to free up cupboard space. We currently keep the ice maker and coffee maker in a cupboard and take it out and put it on the counter top as soon as we reach a campground. I am considering leaving them on the counter top while we travel. I sometimes leave smaller items on the counter top and never have a problem with them moving and falling off but I am nervous about leaving these heavier items out without securing them. Does anyone else travel with larger items on the counter top and if so do you secure them and how do you do it?
