Wash Job ??
2011 3580RL, 3 slides with topper awnings. Do you wash the RV with the slides in or out? If out how do you wash the slide roof under the awnings. If with the slides in you can not get to the slide roof when they are in. ?????????????????

I have always washed with the slides out so I can clean the sides of the slides as well. I use a ladder and wipe the slide tops under the awnings as far as I can reach. I am sure there are others who do differently, but that is what I do.

I wash ours with the slides in and then when finished with that I open them and do the ends and top of the slides. Not complicated at all. BTW, I have slide toppers too.

I have only done the slide tops a few times. After washing the entire unit I used a push broom with an old towel wrapped around the sweep head. I dampened the towel and pushed it back & forth under the topper awning. It cleaned off the dirt pretty well.

We also have slide topper awnings, and wash from inside and outside. The best way for me is to wash from the outside with of course the slides open. A long handle bristled brush that with your arm can reach halfway across the slide will do the job. There is a portion of the slide roof that is covered when the slide is fully out that can only be washed from the inside. I like to do this when the slide is only partially opened/closed allowing adequate room to move step ladder around in the coach and sometimes by standing on furniture/fixtures.

I use a thing that looks like a mop on an extendable stick that I got at a Walmart in their RV dept. For the slide tops I just get on the ladder and run it thru there. I don't do it everytime we wash because the slide toppers keep it reasonably clean under there.

Slides out here. Have a extendable semi handle/brush that I purchased years ago that can reach 16 feet. Bought it at a commercial truck place and it keeps me off the ladder for most of the wash job.

I wash my rig after returning from a trip with the slides out. Then after it's clean and drive the slides are retracted and then it sits a lot on my driveway, so I'll wash it then with the slides in to keep the exterior somewhat clean for the next outing. (I'm trusting the slide sides and tops are still mostly clean).
