Axle installed upside down
Has anyone had any problems with the axles on their montanas? I took our rig in for packing bearings, checking the brakes and putting on the heavy duty shackles. When I called to see how it was going they told me there was a problem with my rear axle, they wanted to know who worked on the axle and I informed them no one. Apparently the rear axle was put on upside down so all the weight of the trailer was on the front axle. Apparently Keystone installed the axle upside down, has anyone had this problem and did Keystone in anyway help with the cost of fixing their error?

Actually I have heard of an RV with the axles installed backwards. Being installed upside down is a new problem for me. I believe it was within the past month, when someone posted about the front of the leafsprings are mounted on the rear of the RV. But I don't recall how it was fixed, but my impression is that this should be handled by Keystone whether or not it's under warranty.
I may have to search this and other forums for details, but you might try the search function above.
On edit: I did a quick search and did not find this problem in the MOC forum. I may have not used the best parameters for my search. It may also have been in other forums I visit.

The axles have a slight bow in them, the middle being higher than the ends. If the rear axle was put on upside down, then the bow would be turned the wrong way. The result would be the front wheels being lower than the rears. And that would definitely make the front axle carry much more weight.

Received a call back from the repair guy and he said that the axle wasn't upside down, he said some axle can be reverse but not ours. He stated that there was no bow in the rear axle. Now we have to see if the extended warranty will cover the axle. The plot thickens.

Debbie, the axle people may try to tell you the lack of a bow is because your rig is overweight, causing the axle to lose its bow. So be prepared for that one.
