240V 30 amp service

I have a circuit in my garage for a welder. This is a 30 amp 240V circuit. Is there anyway that I can use that plug and circuit for my Montana?

Thanks,
Brian

Absolutely not!!
Your trailer 30A is 124V (110)
Really for storage purposes a 20A regular outlet and extension cord is plenty.

I suppose you could intall a sub panel at that location in place of the welder plug, and split off a 110 circuit.

You could plug it in to your camper but it would be a huge repair bill. You need to get someone who knows about electricity to do it for you.

You could do a sub panel off it for one but you would also have to run a nutrol for the one ten. There is no nutrol in the 220 volt for your welder.

Agree with above. Do not use as is. If you do not use it as a welder outlet you could have it rewired to 120 vac and change to an RV type 30 amp outlet. That would not be difficult.

future, now present Son-in-law added a 30amp circuit for us to plug into. 2 hots and a ground. Surge protector caught it and saved the day. Even if you have it wired by an electrician, make sure you use a surge protector that will detect something mis-wired.

Change the 2 pole breaker to a single pole 30 A You have the 3 wires needed already. Change receptacle to a 30 A RV if you have some other type welder plug.

I got up this morning and pulled new wire for a 50 amp circuit. It was easier to run a new circuit, a new box, and plug with a dedicated circuit for my 3791.

Thank you for the replies.

Just make sure that you have two hots, a ground and most importantly a neutral conductor making up your 50 A branch circuit. The receptacle you install will have inputs for all four wires. If it does not it is not an RV appropriate receptacle.

That will work if the receptacle is correct and wired properly. You will be limited to 30A per leg instead of 50A. Your camp ground tower is 240V at 50 amp. Just make sure you have neutral wired in or you will put 240V on your RV.

I have been making short extensions that adapted my 3 prong 50 amp welder outlet to a 4 prong 50 amp plug socket that will take my 5er. I also adapted an extension that adapts my generator to the 3 prong for back feeding. So I think if you find the right combination of plugs you should be able to adapt the outlet. Like the guys above said it will only be 30 amps on each leg.
