Condensation forming on underside of camper

While camping in Florida I noticed water droplets on the ground under the camper. Upon further investigation it seems condensation is forming on the exposed metal on the camper underside and running along the Coroplast and dropping to the ground. This is the 1st time I have noticed this occurring. Has anyone else noticed a similar occurrence?

Since we stayed for 6 or 7 months every year for the last ten years in southwest Florida, it was very common for the whole camper to be covered in condensation at various times in the mornings. That goes along with mosquitoes every day from 4 or 5 onward till the morning hours, palmetto bugs, and other assorted things.

Your camper is very thin and regardless of what the advertisements and the dealerships tell you, these campers are not insulated all that well. The principle of the sweating cold soda can is the same principle as the sweating occurring on your camper. It's just, the camper is a bit bigger than a soda can. When hot and cold hits the same surface on opposite sides, condensation is going to happen, especially if the humidity is high enough, evaporation is slower than condensation forming.

What you see happening is pretty normal I think, morning dew and condensation dripping off the camper. One morning you are going to step outside the camper and clearly see the trailer walls framing where the dew and condensation clearly mark the outline of the studs. Don't be shocked or think something is wrong with your camper. That is normal also.

Thanks for the explanation. This is our first time “snow birding” in Florida. Obviously initially seeing water dripping from the underside concerned me.

I've lived in Florida for 54 years. The humidity level is near 100% almost all year long, at least near the coast where I live. A bit less in winter, when we actually have a winter.

Are you sure you don't have a slow leak? I would drop some coroplast or at least stick a borescope up inside to make sure the water is not coming from inside.
