Roof Question
We have a 2005 3400RL that we just love. We bought it new and have used it several times but not near as much as most people. We had great intentions but health issues for aging parents have not allowed us to travel as planned. The unit has been kept up in tip top shape and even upgrades a few things as needed. The unit has been kept under a complete cover where the weather and sun have not been able to beat down over the years. Now to the question, what about the roof? We clean it as best we can when time allows but am concerned if there is something that should be done regarding treatment. It is original as I said and looks good. Please offer and advice.
Thanks in advance.

the popular answer here is dawn dishwashing soap and a scrub brush. If the roof is in good shape,a good cleaning should be all it needs. WE have an 05 and that is all we have ever done to it.

Good advice and thanks. We too use Dawn to keep it clean as well as the slide toppers.

Since it has been protected from the elements while stored, the only concern I would have is to check all the caulking.

That would be mine also. Anywhere something comes thru the roof they will have used Dicor self leveling sealant to fill the opening. Over time cracks and or shrinking may develop and require a new coat.

Do any of you all use a UV product on the roof to help protect it? Thanks

I have used the Dicor product from CW 3 or 4 times so far, but who knows if it really makes a difference or not. Still chalks up, so your guess is as good as mine. John

After a good cleaning, I use Aerospace 303 (UV protectant)two or three times a year. Seems to not get dirty as fast and reduces black streaks as well.
