Bf Goodrich commercial ta

Does anyone have bf Goodrich tires on your Montana? I have been using them for 8 years..but after about 4 years they blowout and the tread comes off the tire in one long piece..bf Goodrich replaces them.. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem..I have about 2400 lbs of weight on each tire..I always check tire pressure before getting back on the road..
Thanks

We have had BF Goodrich tires on our vehicles with no issues, but never have had them on any of our trailers.

I use Goodrich tires on my TV due to the three ply sidewalls, but if I had problems with them as you describe I'd change. Never had anything on the Monty except 614's and Sailuns.

I had Goodrich Commercial TA's on my rig. Had two blowouts at the 4 year period with good tread left. With $4K worth of damage, I said enough and got Goodyear 614's.

I'm a big fan of these tires. I'm on my second set. First set had about 35k changed them due to age. Second set has about 20K and 3 years on them. Zero problems except ruined one when I bent an axle. Replaced two so the front axle would match with a different tire as the only tire company in the town couldn't get the Goodrich for 5 days.

I originally looked for T/As for our SOB (a Titanium) but found out that some folks were having the described tread separation problem so went to General Grabbers instead. They worked so well over 5 years that I put them on the current HC. This year will be their 4th year and to date nary a problem in about 18,000 miles

I had 2 BFG Commercial T/A tires fail and one was recalled. My "second generation" of Fiver tires.
Now I only run Michelin XPS Ribs and Bridgestone Duravis R350 - they're much heavier tires (by weight) and more expensive, but with about 9 Months/year on the road its a good value for me.

If you have 110 psi wheels get a set of Sailun S637 and say goodbye to tire problems.

Agree! I don't care if Goodrich supplied a new set every couple years after a blow out. Why waste time changing tires while your supposed to have fun? Why take the chance on damage to the 5er? Put Saiolun on and forget about that stuff!

I lost two at the 4 year mark also. My plan was to replace them after that trip with Sailuns, however, loosing two on the road, My choices were very limited.

That's what I run on my rig. I had a blowout on a 6 year old tire which I was going to replace after that trip. Already replaced two, and these were next. Still had good tread on them, but after six years it was time. Just another hundred miles home, but my luck ran out.

I replaced them with the same tire, though.

I don’t understand if you keep having blowouts change tires. Get a set of G rated tires before you take the side off of your camper.

Never had a problem until that one. It was just age.

I have run BF Goodrich Commercial TA’s on a one ton dually farm truck with marginal results. I wouldn’t ever consider running them on a 5er based on the performance I got on the truck, one blowout, tread separating and after 25,000 treadwear was shot. Sailun is the ticket on these heavy rigs.

TA 2 Commercial Tires

I've been running TA/2 Commercial tires on my 3700RL after the 3rd Goodyear belt seperation. Currently have 25,000 miles on them and except for a 6 inch nail in one, no problems. The don't flex as well as a trailer tire when doing a sharp turn, but on the road - no problems.

Just keep in mind that most LT Truck tires are only good for 6K axles as their load capacity is just over 3000 Lbs
