Bob,
I plan on looking at ours this weekend, can't imagine the base corroding so fast. Make sure you are not using an acidic type of cleaner on finish, scrubbing bubbles/lysol basin tub and tile cleaner(on handles). All you should use is a soft damp cloth and blot dry.Use a mild cleaner, making sure not to leave residue on finish then apply wax.

Mine is peeling there as well, and leaks occasionally at the swivel. I think I will just replace it with a good one instead of installing a kit. We just clean ours with dish soap water.

Our problem is not the same, but still it is the kitchen faucet. Sometimes when we lift the lever to turn the water on, nothing happens. If we go to the bathroom faucet & turn that on, then the kitchen faucet will start working. This is happening more & more frequently. Has anyone ever encountered this problem? If so, how did you fix it?

There is a previous post on the kitchen faucet not working. believe problem is factory installed faucet made for a side spray nozzle. So if you turn it on to quick it blocks opening, looking to spray from side nozzle witch isn't there. Thats why it works when you relieve the pressure from another outlet. Should be replaced under warranty if still active.

Thanks Racerjoe,
Thankfully, we are still under warranty. We are taking it in for several other small things in late Sept., so we will just add this to our (growing) list .
