It is not AMPS, it is Volts that you need to be concerned about. If that is the case, why isn't your truck batteries dying? Oh wait I know!! Dealer is blowing smoke. Same battery chemistry.

Being a relative newbie I didn't want to say one way or the other. I just know my DC Amp heavy duty alternator is brand new, of course there's always a remote possibility it's no good but my truck batteries are a-ok as far as I can see. Just seems like the dealer is reluctant to honor the warranty.
Either way I am taking the trailer back to the dealer and they can look at it. Will keep everyone posted.

Get the charging sys in your truck checked and have them put in writing that is it working properly and then the dealer for you 5er won't have a leg to stand on at all. And jeffba is 100% correct it's not the AMPS it's the VOLTS going back in to the sys.

Batteries go bad all the time. Your alternator didn't cause these batteries to go bad. They have a dead short in them. Dealer should warranty them. Batteries come with a warranty from where they got them from. There should be free replacement for the 1st year. If you have 2 batteries both need to be replaced.

by all means ,do a soap check of all connections and check around the fill valve as well as the vent screw on the side of the fill valve. I had a leak around the vent screw after a fill from a local operator. the vent screw was not tighten and my leak was there.

Hi there,

I have a 2019 3931fb that we have had for about 6 months. After having it for about 3 months we were camping and I was unhooking and smelled propane. After using some soap and water I found that the regulator that switches between the two tanks was leaking at the “crimped” part, not at a connection. I changed out the whole regulator/switch for about $70 myself. After I found the leak I discovered this must have been the case straight from the factory because one tank now lasts me about 1.5 months vs the 2 weeks it was lasting me previously. I’d recommended mixing some dish soap with water and dumping it on the regulator. Hope this helps.

btw, your local gas company, will be glad to give you some leak detector, if you stop one and ask... also, kids bubble solution solution for the dollar store works well for LP and tire leaks..

I had the same problem. Ended up with a bad valve assembly on my stove and a bad high pressure regulator on my 2nd propane tank. Replaced both and that resolved the issue.

Had that problem. Turned out to be a cracked/leaky regulator. If you are smelling that rotten egg smell - TURN OFF THE PROPANE! GET IT INSPECTED AND FIXED!

I used to try the soapy water thing. Finally just bought a detector for $25-40 (can't remember exactly). It makes it easier to find the area that is leaking.

Our 3121 had same thing when we purchased. Smell would go away when tanks were closed. It was a leak at regulator. Had dealer replace and everything is fine now.
