Costco batteries

What are your feelings about Costco 12 deep cycle batteries?
I'm going to put 4 of them in our 3400RL for boon docking.

Randy, I have 4 of the Costco deep cycles in my Trailer. They have given me good service, and last about 5 years. Two are dedicated to the "house" batteries, and 2 for the tv, and satellite system. I use a 2000eui Honda generator to recharge them. I would consider at least 4 - 6 volt golf cart batteries if I were doing it again. Bill

The way it was explained to me is there are more amp hours in two six volt golf cart natteries than in two twelve volt batteries. Doesn't make sense to me, either, but that's the way it is.

I would look at Trojan Golf Cart batteries 4 6V or you may think about 2 12V

They have a great Web Site and make a superior product. My Trojans in my Golf Cart are 8 years old my neighbors are 12

Randy,

If you go with 4 - Trojan T-105's each battery has a 225 amp hour rating. 4 wired in a series/ parallel configuration will give you 450 amp hours at 12 volts. The 6 volt Trojan batteries are true deep cycle golf cart batteries which have very thick plates which can be used down to 50 percent capacity and recharged over many more cycles than the 12 volt "deep cycle" marine/rv batteries.

Depending on how much boondocking you plan on doing should determine what you use. An occasional dock at Wally World, 2 - 12 volts would do....sitting for 2 to 3 days the 4 - 6 volts are better suited.

See link for for info on t - 105s

Keep in mind you can get the T-125 at 240 AH with the same size as a t-105, I bought 6 of them

As the length of time spent off the grid increased we went from one 12v to two 12v's and then added solar and six 6v. The 6v batteries truly do give you more.

It all depends on how much boon docking you do. I have two 6 volt golf cart batteries from Costco that I have been using and they work just fine for me. This is what I used while at Quartzite for 7 days last year. I do have LED lighting and a Honda 2000 generator.

we will primarily be boon docking, rarely hooked to power. Also looking at installing a off grid solar system.

If you boondock a lot and you're thinking of going solar, get golf cart batteries. They'll do the best job for you now and are what you need for the solar application.

The 12 volt side of life, 1 and 2, are must reads for anyone wanting to upgrade the battery in a trailer.
