4 MOC members joined us here at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument to assist in the removal of buffelgrass, an invasive grass which is threatening our beautiful Sonoran Desert.
Long time MOC members,
Charlie & Nila MacLeod (8.1al)and new members
Peter & Diana Rawson (Pirate Pete) joined us for a day in the desert where we pulled 1,171 plants and filled 32 bags and then hauled the bags on our backs up and down washes back to the truck. It was a physically exhausting but fun day - aspirin was served all around!!!
We thank these MOCers for their help and we thank Grant & Kathy (BirdingRVer) for their idea to invite MOCers to help. Unfortunately, they couldn't make it this year but we are happy to hear Kathy is healing after her surgery.
