Teddy's park

Theodore Roosevelt National Park is worth the trip. Medora, ND is a quaint little town at the south entrance to the park. Beautiful rustic "Badlands" swell up out of the ground and greet you with an awe inspiring display. Buffalo, elk, prong-horn antelope, white tail deer, mule deer, long horn cattle, and wild horses roam the park. The prairie dogs are fascinating little creatures. Prairie dog town can be a source of entertainment.

Did you ever hear of pitch fork fondue? Well, that is a big attraction in Medora. New York strip and ribeye steaks were impaled on pitch forks and plunged into huge fondue pots. The outcome, fantastic steaks! After the Steaks, came the Medora Musical, a happy, feel-good, patriotic, fun musical. It rivaled the Branson shows.

On out trip through the south park, we got some real closeup shots of Buffalo and prairie dogs. We also took in some great hikes. Tomorrow we will be going late in the afternoon to see if we can catch the other critters moving around.

Stiles, if you should go up to the North Park it is a beautiful spot to dry camp right in the park. If I remember correctly it is about 50 miles North of Medora and very beautiful.
