The GAWRs are on the Federal Certification Label...they should be correct and what we use.

Well today after 4 1/2 months fighting with keystone as they had replaced the rear axel on our 3000rk which was a 2006 model made in march or 06 and i asked craig at keystone what they were and he told me they were 6000 lb axels
well today i crawled under as i had a uperdial shot yesterday in the back but i went under and the old front axel which keystone said was a 6000 lb i scraped the duck tape off the area and its stamped 5200 lb
so i went to the new rear axel they just put in in march of this year at keystone expense as we fought for 2 1/2 months over it and it had the same tape over the markings and it says d52 so its a 5200 lb axel
well i called craig at keystone and i had it weighed this am on a cat scale at the truck stop and the unit won't hold a 5200 lb axel

he said today they will replace both axels at no cost in 2 weeks as we are going to the fl keys for a week and the new axels will be ready before we start our 5000 mile trip north by going east and west ,,, now i need a warrinty for 1 more year on the axels and tires as we have gone through a set of tires in 4900 miles ,, but they pd that too but why not tell the truth the first time,, it would have a better taste in the mouth
this has been a long story but i have every phone call on paper from the start as this started on jan 8 07 and hope to be done by may 25 07
now do i have patances [spelling ] or what
john

John, I just dont understand why Keystone does this...it would be so much easier just to be honest. I am happy that they are replacing the axles for you.
I am calling my dealer tomarrow to see if Keystone sent them anything for my unit...Sure does take Keystone some time to do things.

I have a 2007 3650RK. I checked yesterday and I've got D60 on both axels. The sticker on the side of the trailer says 6,000 Lbs per axel.
I think the Mfg date was Mar/Apr 2006.

all i can say is if you have only 6000 lb axels on that rig run it in to a truck scale and get a seperat wt on each axel as the cat scales can do that cost 8.50 so it worth it for piece of mind .. they told me i had 6000 and i got under it and they were 5200 why i only have the 3000rk not as big as yours ,,, you need 7000 lb and you will see in 1 or 2 years they have 8000 lb axels as they all are tooooooo oooo lite, weigh the unit by the axel ,, you will be shock john

John, Mike from Keystone called yesterday. I think he is frustrated! He said he was checking on some information and would call me back...maybe I will hear from him today. Sure hope they get this resolved and soon!! Thanks for the information on this.

NOTE*****Just wanted to note that Mike from Keystone called me this morning May 11,2007. He said they just need to verify the axles are 6000lbs and then after verification Keystone will replace with the 7000lb axles. This took some time but my wife and I are both happy with Keystone! Thank you Keystone for hearing and listening to us!! ****

From my own conversation with Dexter for a different reason, it came to light that the actual axle tubes are the same for 6000 or 7000 lb axles. The differences come in the springs and brake lining. In my case, I already had the 7000 lb brake lining, so the only real difference is the actual leaf spring.

Since the axle tubes are the same for both ratings, this may explain how the mis marking might have occurred.

John, my markings were not incorrect on these axles...they are 6000lbs and are suppose to be 7000lbs. Which Keystone is correcting with 7000lb axles.

Well we finally received our new stickers for our new 3400RL with correct axle and grvw #'s. They were sent from Keystone to our dealer and then to us. It only took a little over 4 weeks and I believe this was a good turn around for Keystone to get them out to the buyers. We now show the 7000lb axle and the 15,500 grvw.
