In the manual for our converter it calls out that it is AGM compatible

I was worried also about this so I called the manufacturer ...I think Progressive Dynamics...and ask that question. The man said "no problem" and then went into great detail which was pretty much over my head. Mine is a '15 and he said I am good to go with 2-6v AGM Trojan Reliants. Feel much better about it now. Just waiting on batteries to arrive now.

Battery upgrade

This thread is helpful! I bought a Montana last year and it came with two 12V Interstate batteries (STM 24s). They did terrible in the cold weather. Died after 1 night of running the heater and hydraulics. I’m looking to upgrade to 6V batteries and have two questions:
1. Should I keep the 12v batteries to run in parallel with the 2 6V paired batteries? Any downside to having this combination?
2. What would others recommend I get for the 6V batteries? Sounds like trojans are popular, but can anyone provide specs (amps, erc).

Thanks!!

Question 1 no you cannot mix and match them
I think the best bang for your buck and so Trojan 6v T105 225 Amp hours, I put 4 of them and my 3701LK with the watering system.
There is a lot of opinions out there on want to use.
They make T105 AGM also but it's a lot more money.
T105 you can find for about $129 downfall is you have to water and equalize them.
The T105 AGM there is no maintenance but they are $299 each.
That's just my .02 hope it helps

You need to vent AGM batteries too.

When I installed my solar, I upgraded to 4 6-volt batteries.

This is the box I ordered, and am installing venting into it.

That's the same box I used, I bought a plastic sink drain about it 8" cut it about 3 inches long. Glued the big end on top for the vent tube and the small end on the bottom.
