Closet Renovation
I'd like to make some changes to the closet/washer and dryer area in my 3670RL. At this point, I doubt that we will ever want to put a washer and dryer in the camper, and we have enough space for hanging clothes in the bedroom, which I modified some time ago.
The shelves in the closet are only about half of the depth of the closet,(probably about 12") and I want to make them deeper. A trip to Home Depot revealed white metal closet shelving of 12" or 16". I was hoping for 24" deep stuff. I'd welcome any suggestions

Look in the garage shelving section - I think I remember seeing 24 inch wide shelves there (may have been Lowe's).

I've always agreed with the old saw, "If momma's happy, then everyone is happy".

Have seen a variety of width and length shelving in both Home Depot and Lowe's. Both were fairly inexpensive. Happy RVing...

We did not widen the shelving itself. Instead we added two smaller plastic bins to the top shelf and one large plastic bin (sideways) to the bottom shelf which store things nicely. They extend beyond the shelves by a few inches. We hold them on the shelves with tension rods and we can store a lot of stuff in there. We also have a three tier potato bin style storage unit that sits in front of the "box" on the lower half or so. We added hooks to one of the shelves so we can hang coats and caps in there. Did I say this closet was full????

I found a white wire shelf at Home Depot that was of the same design as the ones Montana uses. It was about half as deep as the closet and the outward facing edge was a clothes hanger bar. The rack's basket has an upturned edge that should keep things from sliding out.

Thanks to all who answered. I finally did what Sweetfire did; bought matching 12" deep
shelving from Home Depot. Luckily, they had a 4' section, so there was no waste at all. I repositioned the original shelving more to my liking, and added the new stuff, mounting it actually upside down from how it would normally be mounted to have a 2" or so lip to help keep things from sliding off and falling against the door or on the floor. Lots of nice space in there now. Don
