One more week!!!

Only one more week and we can leave the cold of Michigan and head to Texas. We will be in Texas January and February and then on to Arizona for a month or so. This will be our "recon" trip to see where we may wish to spend more time in the following winters. Florida was nice for the last umpteen years and now we are ready to try something different.

We headed south today and will be in Ga Monday night, then sunny Fla on Tuesday, YEA!!!!!!

we couldn't get out if we wanted too--some of our roads are still closed and those that are open are snow packed and icy. our blizzard closed many churches Christmas eve and Christmas day--our grandson told us that "baby Jesus's birthday got canceled."

Good travels Jim... Give us reports on the RGV. We have not wintered there but are considering it next season. We did do Az and although beautiful country we decided it was to cold and to windy. This is our 3rd year in this part of Forida nd it is just about perfect...perhaps a bit more South.

Jim, Last year we wintered in Ft Walton Beach, FL and this year we are in San Antonio, TX, of course we did live here for 15 years, 23 years ago. My how things have changed. San Antonio has really expanded, kind of like my waist band....Probably not as warm here as Fl but it may be warmer further south, as in the Rio Grande Valley. We wanted to visit our old haunts around here and get our annual medicals done also. We also lived in Tucson for 5 years and it can be warm or cold there, but usually warmer than here. We are in the Hill Country near Bandera and it has been getting into the low 30s high 20s lately. You will probably have better luck further south if you are looking for warmth, BUT be warned, it can get, and stay, pretty windy down there. If you stop in SA send me a PM and we could do lunch or something. Have a great winter wherever you go.......

We will be spending the last two weeks of January in Rockport, TX, then a week or so in the RGV and then to Bandara for two weeks or so. West from there on 90 for a couple of week jaunt to Tucson for a couple of weeks before going to Casa Grande, then the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam/Las Vegas and then in April and May through southern Utah's NPs on to Casper, WY through Denver. Rich, we'll keep you informed and Phil, we'll contact you. We told our new Greyhound Sunny today, while walking her in a snowstorm, that we were heading to TX and AZ and she got so excited she skipped all the way home!

Hi again, Jim. We are just north of Houston and it is cold here. Only in the 50's last week and 40 something predicted tomorrow (for the high temp.) And in the 30's every night. Bring heaters, heated mattress pad and gloves! Maybe we'll still see you in Rockport.

Got it Phil, thanks. Sandy, that sounds nice. Snowing here, 21 degrees and 20 mph winds. Supposed to drop again tonight and winds picking up even more, according to Weather Bug. We'll warm things up when we get there!

It's all relative, isn't it? DD reported this morning that the "feels like" temp is 8. And icy roads. Guess it's pretty nice here after all, you are so right!

Was gonna say it was cold here, but on second thought, it's not. Sunshine and 53*.

They are reporting the coldest night of the season here in Florida near Disney. They say that factoring in the wind factor of 10/12 MPH it could "feel" like it is 30 degrees in the AM. All the shelters are open. We had our water hose freeze several times in Apache Junction ,AZ

This is our third winter in Southern Arizona and we love it! Warm days and cold nights for sleeping.
