Anyone using a tankless hot water heater?

We recently saw a posting on another website from a fulltimer using an AquaStar brand tankless heater. They seemed very happy with it.
It seems like a great idea.
If you ARE or ARE NOT using one, please tell us your reasoning and your experiences regarding this item or ones like it.
Thanks.

Hi Longwell -

We installed a Bosch tankless water heater about 3 months ago in our stick house. (We previously had an electric water heater.) Our electric bill has dropped significantly! The best reason for this tankless heater is that it isn't running constantly - only on when you turn the hot water on which is very nice when you're away from home in the camper! Would also be curious to know if anyone has one in their camper!

Can't see the need for it in the Monty. Cost of electric is not a factor as most of the time the CG is paying the electric bill.

I assume they are electric only therefore would not seem to be a good option since we ustilize the dual capability (gas and electric) at different times.

I had looked at these back when we had our TT.(6 gal. propane only in TT) With a price tag up at around $1000 I just couldn't see going that route. Electric is not practical for RVs because of the electrical demand. We're perfectly happy with the one in the Mountaineer.

We look forward to using the "parks" electric to heat our water. As dry campers who use solar power, using some one else's electric is very cost effective for us. Their electric charges up our batteries, including the rechargeable, heats our hot water, electric freezer, our refrigerator...gee, guess we just want to make sure we get our moneys worth if we have to pay for it.

Thanks to all who responded.
It's great to get the scoop from those who deal with situations regularly.
