An OZZ moment that went Vertical

We've been carring tables, chairs, ladders, and step stools all stacked one on top of the other on the road side of the storage compartment for ages. The item needed has always been near the bottom of the pile. After seeing another MOCers storage solution, I went "VERTICAL" after a trip to Lowe's. Basically it's 2X2's lagged to the floor with 1" dowels glued into holes spaced accordingly covered with carpet for padding. I lost the ability to throw the power cord in there, but I usually carry it in back of the truck anyhows. And ... as for inspiration to keep on modding ... the credit goes to the "Master of Mods" ... OZZ

Nice, but I hope you didn't lag those screws into the tanks underneath.

Very nice job dieselguy! I noticed in the picture, it looks like you have a water regulator attached to your incoming water inlet. I like that idea...

Oh Art ... ye of little faith. When I first bought my fiver I dropped part of the underbelly to tidy things up ... I snapped this photo for future reference.

The tape measure is sitting on top of the grey tank ... in the background you can see the 3/4" particle board flooring in the storage compartment on top of a 1.5" maybe 2" aluminum beam. The top of the black tank is below that beam the same height as the grey tank. So at least on a 2011, there about 1.5" - 2" clearance from the top of the tank to the bottom of the storage bay floor. I countersunk the hole in the bracket with the dowels so I had the thickness of the flooring (3/4") grip length of my lag screws for caution.
Tanner1070 ... If you go the regulator mod, make an L bracket and fasten it to the inside of the convience center under the regulator ... it'll help support the weight of the regulator. I also plumbed in a onboard water filter (behind the paper towel holder) The other water filter to the left is the one I used to have that I stuck in the ground by the water spigot at the campsite. Via the rear fresh water tank fill, I still use the old filter setup to fill the tank at the lake as it's way faster than the convience center fresh water tank fill which has a tiny valve that diverts water to the fresh water tank..

Great job. One big thing I got from the Montana Rally was watching how they were building rigs. Where they ran plumbing and electrical, how much clearance here and there, was worth the cost of the trip if we didn't get anything else out of it.
