Hitch for Montana
I remember someone talking about this but I don't remember where. Our 2013 came with a hitch that is next to useless. Does anyone make a hitch for these, or do I need to fire up my welder?
I don't plan on towing another trailer, I just want a more stable mount for a bike rack.

Tom, my dealer upgraded mine to 2" cross tube with a 2" receiver for about $160.00. I did mention it in the Keystone seminar.

Hidden Hitch makes a nice one that several members have installed and liked. It has an adjustable width

We love our Curt Hitch. Kind of pricey but it is stable.

Those with the Hidden Hitch, did you bolt the hitch on right at the end of the I Beam? On the inside flange of the I Beam? One more, what is the length of the bracket attached to the I Beam?
I have electric stabilizers at the very rear attached to the I Beam. I will need to relocate them and I am trying to determine if I will have to relocate the Lippert drawers and a couple of storage tubes.
Thanks for any and all replies!

Here is an alternative to the rear mounting, but I would think it would be cumbersome.

Can someone post a stock number for this hitch?

This is the one I used. http://www.etrailer.com/Specialty-Tr...urt/13703.html
All measurements are on the web page. I did run a bar back past the fresh water tank and bolted it to a cross beam. Just in case of any up and down movement on the hitch.

You want the Hidden Hitch Model 82201. It is adjustable up to a width of 71". The frame on a Montana is right at 70" wide. Mine worked fine for 7 years. My newer Montana has a hitch already (albeit puny) so I haven't bothered to reinstall the old one.
Be careful here. This model is only adjustable to 46" wide. You won't be happy with this one.

Good catch Carl, I was looking at the style, bolting to the frame with the flange and didn't read the fine print. It's the fine print that gets us every time.
Here is where I got mine, they have a selector so you get the right one.

Heck, that didn't help, I went in and they knew just what I needed, guess it isn't a catalog item. I give up

Thanks everyone for their response - especially Oz with all the pictures. Looks like I'm going to have surgery on my arm and won't be able to lift anything for 3 months, so this has just turned into a 'spring' project.

Sorry to hear about your arm Tom, hope it is not too serious. But it will be good to get waited on and eat snacks all day long anyway

Thanks Ozz. Seems I have separated the bicep tendon from the bone it was attached to. Out patient surgery but very long recovery time. I wish I could blame it on lifting that overweight microwave, but it happened when we were pulling boat lifts last Sunday.
