Traffic Alert for Coastal Washington State
In case any of you are traveling US 101 or US 12 going or coming from the Ocean Shores area, WA DOT closed the Simpson bridge yesterday as they found it unsafe. This is the only southbound bridge for US 101 on the coast. Traffic has been rerouted over the US 101 northbound bridge and traffic is very heavy and very slow. This closure is until further notice. Pack your patience especially on weekends as it will take you a long time to get through.
We have had closures in the past and it brings the area to gridlock at times. If you are planning on traveling this way, drop me a note and I can assist in how to get you though the mess.
Steve
PS: This is a very heavily traveled tourist area and the effects will be long reaching.

So Steve, for us non-locals, which bridge is the Simpson??? Is it on US 12 between Aberdeen and Central Park? Or is it the bridge in Aberdeen connecting Aberdeen and South Aberdeen? Or is it somewhere else?
I can't figure out where it is and how it will affect us.

Hi,
Sorry bout the confusion, This is the bridge for the Ocean Shores (US 101 and SR 109) area and the other mentioned was for Westport.
