Oil/ diesel fuel leak

We have a 95 7.3 diesel- fluid has been leaking in the valley for some time- has anyone out there had this problem? was the problem resolved? We have already spent more than a grand replacing the lift pump, the high pressure pump plus the related hoses, clamps, etc. Any hints will be appreciated. THANKS - Don

I also have a '95 7.3 PSD. Have not noticed any type of liquid leaking for over 3 years since having had the "O" rings in the turbo replaced. No fuel leaks.

Don, I had this problem recently and posted about it. I replaced my pump and all hoses and the electical wiring below the pump total was around 800 for me. I'd check the pump area again it could be a bad one. I hope your near the company that replaced it so they can do the warranty work. Mine has a 3 yr warranty 36000 mile. I thought that was pretty good warranty to fall back on.

Don,
If it is the problem my brother had with his 99 7.3 leaking it is an easy fix. We got on the website Diesestop and found a few postings. They showed exactly how to fix the problem. I do not know if it is the same leak as yours but two fifty cent "O" rings fixed his problem. Took him about an hour to do the fix. And that includes going and getting the rings. This is apparently a familiar problem.

Ford wants about $200 to fix it. A complete kit costs about $40. Actual cost other than time was $1.

Good luck.

The main problem reported on the Diesel forum is leaking o rings on the fuel filter drain valve. This is the valve that you routinely drain the water from fuel filter. The new ULSD is very hard on the older o rings. Be sure to replace with "Viton" o rings.

As posted on the dieselstop.com the rings are #202 1/2 inch OD, 1/4"ID and 1/8 inch thick But I am not sure this is for all years. You might search on thediesstop.com

I think mine are starting to leak a little now.
