Replaced Sofa with Lazy Boy Recliners

After almost 13 years living in our 2000 Montana, we replaced the living room sofa-bed with two Lazy Boy Wall-away Recliners. Wow! Never knew what we were missing. Our original recliners went south in a very short time of using them so not having a recliner to sit in was not my idea of comfort. Wish we'd done this some time ago, but money is always a problem when it comes to making some changes.

Many of us replace sofa and recliners with better quality furniture. Enjoy those new recliners!

We did that early on and wouldn't go back. I do understand about the cost, that always makes good ideas take longer.

Cost was a factor for us too, but finally bit the Lazy Boy bullet. What a difference! Hope you continue to enjoy.

Just curious... I'm thinking of doing the same. Perhaps get a couple of decent leather recliners.

Any factors to consider when doing so? How wide a recliner were you able to fit thru the door?

Any decisions you made when purchasing that you wished you did different.

I never bought furniture for an RV so at first blush it seems foreign. Probably just the same as buying for the home... yes?

Most of the newer recliners now days have the capability of taking the back off the chair. It fits in the unit easily. If you want the recliners to stay in the back of the unit in most cases you don't want a chair much wider than 32" so the slides come in. The change is worth while!

We put 2 Catnapper Teddy Bear Wallhugger Recliners http://www.wayfair.com/Catnapper-Ted...-2-PV1600.html in ours shortly after we purchased our Monty 2 years ago. Only problem with them is you can't stay awake when you recline in them.

Greg, if you guys are coming down Hwy 83 when you go to the Island give me a holler when you get close to Donna, TX and I'll show you just how big a recliner will fit through the doors of these things. Once you see our huge recliners you'll be shocked. PM me and I'll give you my cell number. We've got a really big parking lot here at the park so getting in and out won't be a problem for ya.

Thanks for the offer but we are not going to be that far south.

Matagorda Bay is north of Corpus Christi - about 1/2 way between there and Galveston.

We'll be crossing Texas on I-10 from New Mexico. We're going to spend 2 nights in Kerville at the Shriners Park and go in search of some good German Food in Fredericksburg.

But thanks again... I would like to have compared some solar notes.

Not a problem. Look at the link I provided and you can read the specs on the reliners we added. The back comes off of most recliners now days to help getting them in the door. I'm still in the rewiring phase of my solar setup and had to take a break to get a tooth pulled so it won't be finished for a day or so.

ols1932, not trying to highjack your thread. Congrates on your new recliners. I hope you sleep as well in yours as we do ours. We sure have missed a lot of evening TV since we got ours.
