Green light on or green light off.

Hey folks and folketts,

I can never remember and the walk through for my 3700RL was less to more than more percise instruction of all equipment.
The antenna booster in the Master bedroom closet, is it the green light is on and the booster is active or the green light is off and the antenna can be used. I know you have to push the button to get cable but I think I have confussed myself just enough to forget which is which.
Thanks
Sinserly - needing cable.

Yep, Off for Cable, On for Antenna. The booster for the Antenna is actually mounted in the Antenna and the plate in the closet provides the power to it. So Green lite means power is on.

Try to remember it this way (worked for me)...

Since air waves can be screwy (just like computer wireless connections), the booster must be ON (Green) in order to BOOST the typically weak over-the-air signal like what happens to antennas all the time.

Since Satellite and Cable are direct connections (the satellite dish concentrates an air signal to make it virtually a wire unless it's obstructed by something), then the booster is NOT needed because the signal should be very good and needs to remain off otherwise it will disturb the direct connection. Think of these like a direct wired connection for a computer which was much faster and reliable therefore no special boosting is required.

I used to have a sticky label to remind me, but now we only use satellite so the label adhesive wore off and fell off and the booster now stays off.
