A/C

Believe it or not, here in NJ today I am turning on the A/C!

We have two units. The one in the bedroom is not working. We have a 2010 3585SA.

Our thermostat has zone 1 and zone 2. The BR A/C is on zone 2.

The thermostat recognizes the A/C in zone 2 long enough for me to set the desired temperature, but then the A/C does not come on and the thermostat readout goes blank, i.e., does not recognize the A/C.

The only fuse marked "A/C" is obviously fine, because the LR unit is working.

The breaker for the BR A/C is not tripped. Checked it. Even flipped it off and back on again. No help.

Never thought we'd need cooling this early in the year but it's been a crazy "winter," eh?

I have put in a call to a mobile tech and am awaiting a call back, but any ideas might be helpful for troubleshooting.

I have not taken the thermostat off the wall yet, as it is pretty warm out and our dog needs some cooling, as it is till working hours for us. I can try that later if it might be a help.

Cheers,
Betty

we had trouble with our unit after it sat thru the winter. would hear a click, but no fan, found out the fan was siezed and would not start. All we did is go up on roof with a long screwdriver or something thin and give it a turn.worked all year after that. Later in fall I removed cover and sprayed wd-40 on shaft,no problems since. Make sure it is OFF before sticking anything in fan.

Thanks; I'll remember that if I get to that point. Right now the thermostat does not acknowledge the existence of the bedroom A/C.

We’ve had the A/C on as well and it’s still winter.
I hope it don’t go from winter straight to summer.
First day of spring is tomorrow!

Betty, might be worth a shot of resetting the t-stat. I don't have the instructions at my finger tips, but maybe someone else does. If not I can look it up latter. Remember all this new electronic stuff is made up of tiny computers but they don't come with a "Control, Alt, Delete" button.

CTRL+ALT+DEL I could handle! I'll dig out the manual (hopefully there is one among all the papers) and see what I can come up with after work.

Make that after work after dinner! At least the nights are still cool here.

Cheers!
