Where to stay in Reno

We are the proud new owners of a 2000 Montana. The previous owners took excellent care of it and it looks like new!! We will take delivery next week - can hardly wait!!!!!! In two weeks we will be taking it to Reno - does anyone have a recommendation on which park to stay at? We're thinking Boomtown. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sunshine... welcome to the MOC family! It's a great group to belong to.

Now for the bad news....... to take a trailer to Reno in two weeks and to not already have reservations.... well, is not good. Reno always has some sort of major event or conference going on and their RV parks are usually booked anywhere from 2 months to a year in advance.

You'll need to start calling ASAP and see if anything has opened up for the dates you want to be there and if you do find something anywhere..... grab it! You can also ask each place that you call if they have a "waiting list" for the dates you want and get added onto it. I haven't stayed at any Reno campground but here's some to try:

Good Luck!

Thank you for the welcome and also the information about Reno. I will start calling asap. We have a motel room booked, reservation made before we found the Montana, but I won't cancel it until I get confirmation on an RV space. Thanks again.

I heard that a new RV Park opened up in Verdi, which is close to Reno. Sorry I do not know the name of the park but maybe someone else will be along to let you know that parks name.

Yes, Reno is bad in the month of September. Air Races, Camel Races, and Balloon Races bring many many people to Reno.

DHenry... that might be the Gold Ranch Casino/RV Park which is in Verdi. I have it listed above in the RV parks.... but here's a link to their website.

They look pretty interesting.... but don't all places look good on their websites?..hahaha
