Gas Furnace/ Generator Problem

Hi all I am having a problem with my gas furnace in my 2021 3931FB Montana Legacy. The furnace will run perfectly fine if I am on battery power but when I hook my twin Honda 2000i’s up to it the furnace will come on and run for about 5 minutes and shut off and will not come back on. The generators are plug grounded. If I unplug the generators and run off battery power it will work fine. I have not checked it on shore power because we haven’t taken it on its first trip yet. Has anyone got any ideas ??? Thanks

I have a bonding plug but I will have to check if AC runs it’s been cold for the last few weeks. But I think everything runs fine including the electric fire place. This has got to be something simple that I am just overlooking.

The furnace is a 12V DC device. The 120V A/C supply from shore or generator power should have no affect on the furnace. This is weird behavior.

"Twin Honda generators..."
Ok, I'm guessing you are using a parallel device to combine their output.
Not that it should matter but...
Have you tried it on just one of the generators?
Just to eliminate the parallel device...
Is your rig pre wired for a generator?
Maybe a bad transfer switch ???
Or mis-wired???

Thanks for the advice I will try just one generator and see if that solves the problem. It is wired for a generator and has a onboard surge protector.

Do you have in-command controlling the furnace? Have you confirmed nothing changes on calling for furnace. Gas only fan off will run only furnace and not start the heat pump.

Another thing to check is the 15a breaker in DC fuse box. Is red light on when it fails to come back on? If yes, try a regular fuse.

Neither of these should have anything to do with connecting to generator, but are things I’d check.

I have the same rv. Shouldn't make a difference because the furnace run on 12v. Check the time and date in your command center. If it is off a lot of stuff will not work right. I had 4500 generator and couldn't run the ac.

Found The Problem !

First of all thanks to all who responded to my questions. It all helped. The problem was the 15amp fuse that auto resets itself. Took the advice of the last one to respond and that did the trick. I am sure that I will have more questions in the future. Thank you all and Merry Christmas

Glad you figured it out. Ive read that the black fuse is a known Keystone problem. Putting a regular fuse may be a temporary work around. You may want to check with your dealer on a permanent solution.
