MOC Rallys

I know this isn't the right place to post this, but I couldn't find anywhere better. Just what happens at the MOC Rallys? Is it just a get together with some show and tell about various user upgrades, etc? Just wondering....
Thanks.

You get to meet all the people that you interact with on the forum. We have pot lucks, pancake breakfasts, make friends with people of a common interest, get questions about anything answered and generally have a good time.

I addition the fall rally is held in Goshen, Ind very near the Keystone plants, in fact all the brand plants and nearly all the vendors are there as well as the Montana Management, many seminars and the Keystone service center is nearby.

You will meet people who will probably be lifelong friends. You will meet people who have a lot in common with you. You will meet people who have all the answers to those questions you have about your rig, tow vehicle, hitch, etc. Best of all, you will realize that there can never be enough rallies to keep you happy!

We went on our first, and so far only rally (because I'm still teaching full-time) last June in Oregon and had more fun than we've had in years. Missing the Quartzsite and Texas Hill Country rallies is painful, but we plan to be on the road full-time by summer. Number one on our priority list after that is to start planning our trip to the 2011 Quartzsite rally (and to any others that we can make).

The Quartzsite rally in 2011 will hopefully be my first . I retire in July, and have some things planned, and Quartzsite is one of them.

At the 2009 Fall Rally in Goshen, they not only had factory reps in attendance, Keystone held a driving school for the wives where they actually hooked up, drove, backed up and unhooked trucks and trailers. This was followed by a factory tour for everyone. Mor-Ryde offered free or reduced cost installation of many of it's products and installed them right at your campsite. Additional events included a potluck diner, an Amish diner, a Mennonite Relief Event that included baked goods and other kinds of foods (someone must have told mentioned we like to eat!) and a host of other events. There was also a couple there to weigh your truck (loaded and unloaded)and trailer by the individual axles, which gives you the most accurate information you can have and opened more than a few eyes.

As Wayne & Carolyn stated, we've made several lifelong friends in the year we've been RVing and look forward to making many more.

We are in Quartzsite right now and this is our first rally. We have met a lot of new friends ( I hope ) and we are having a ball. We have had one pot luck so far and at least one more is planned. Cocktail hour starts around 4PM and shortly after that the Appetizers start to flow. And then there is the big bonfire every night where all of the stories and lies are told. Other than that it is just hanging out and doing what ever you want. Try a rally, I will guarantee that you will like it.

And if you can't get to all the major rally's, we still have several mini rallys with MOC'ers that are traveling in the same area... All you have to have in common is a Montana to start and then if you become a SOB (some other brand) you still are our best friends.

The very best thing we did was join this forum and then went to our first rally at Lake Siskiyou 5 years ago. We now have so many more lifetime friends and are still meeting more of the nicest people. Join in on the fun of a rally and you will never forget the experience.

I can't believe that no one responded in a manner such as "It is top-secret, the only way to know what happens is to attend one!!" They are very enjoyable, very educational, and as others have stated a fantastic opportunity to make new friends with common interests. Bottom line, you won't be disappointed when you decide to attend one of the many that are planned.

Sometimes there are even surprise guests that appear at a Rally, you never know what else will be at the events along with all of the above mentioned things--even white elephant exchanges

You end up gaining 20 pounds, your pants get tighter and after a rally, you try and go on a diet while your DW makes all the tasty new recipies she got from the others. Oh the sacrifies we have to make, but someone's gotta do it.

Mostly, it's about the people. Meeting new friends and renewing aquaintances with old ones. But, it's also a great spot to learn how to get rid of those annoying little problems with your coach. Someone else has surely had the same issue and found a neat fix. I was fortunate enough at the last Goshen rally to get several frustrating issues fixed with some innovative solutions. Also, you never know when you're going to have a small mishap on a bike and need a nurse - thanks Jan.

We are in the process of purchasing a new Montana and discovered this web site. I joined less than two weeks ago and then came out to Quartzsite as an S.O.B (some other brand). You can't beet the folks here. There are folks here that can answer almost any question about fifth wheels, solar, photography, generators and anything else you can think of. The best part is there are no strangers here, just friends you havn't met.
