Pop out opens on its own
Hello friends.
Leading up to winterizing our 2008 3400RL, I noticed that the bedroom pop out would be randomly opening about 6 inches. Of course I was blaming the DW for going into the trailer and accidently hitting the open button.
However, I took it to storage last week and went to see if everything was OK, and low and behold, the bedroom pop out was open 6 inches. This surprised me as I disconnected the battery the week before.
Could something be pushing the pop out open, or should there be a lock that is maybe not working?
Thanks for any help.

On our old rig we had that issue going down the road and had to replace the gang valves that control whether they open or not. It could also be a piston seal.

Agree with DQDICK you may also have some air in the system.

5 or 6 years ago I had a slide creeping out on my rig. From this forum deduced it may be air in the system. I exercised the hydraulics by opening and closing both slides several times. Problem resolved. Hope your fix is as easy and cheap.

Had the same problem with main slide. Hydraulic pump made be Dewald which was purchased by Lippert. No parts or support is available.
Found hydraulic shop that said they could repair it. Sent whole pump assembly to them...diagnosis: check valve in the manifold no longer sealing. This allowed fluid to seep back into cylinder. Apparently the hydraulic fluid holds the slides in.
They sold me additional in-line valves that were supposed to solve the issue, it didn't. Finally I drilled hole through stationery tube into moveable tube. Attached ball pins to small chain attached to frame. Keeps slide from creeping...just have to pull the slide in to release pressure on ball pin, remove it, and open slide.

You can also hold the slide in the closed position by inserting blocks of wood or whatever between the inside trim and the wall of the camper with the slides closed. DONT FORGET TO REMOVE THEM BEFORE MOVING THE SLIDES !!!

Doesn't work with hydraulic slide outs. We did this and the board pushed the inside wood facing off the slide out and still came out going down road.. Had to repair facing. Not fun!

Something we found out. If you had a reason to shut off the valve to one slide and then close another slide the slide that has a closed valve will work out about 4-6 inches UNLESS you open all valves and bump the hydraulics to tighten all slides. Yes, the hydraulics hold the slide in.
