Viva Las Vegas

What a nice place to visit. Lots to do. Visited Valle of Fire yesterday. Absolutely beautiful! Also went to Hoover Dam.

Tonight we went to the light show on Fremont St. It was quite a sight. Neither of us having been to Vegas before, it is all quite entertaining. I'm leaving some silver in the city, but as I have stated before, If it weren't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all!!!!

We rode through "Sam's Town" RV parks (both of them) and I must say that the Las Vegas RV Resort (formerly Holiday RV Resort) is far much better than Sam's. Las Vegas Resort is right next to Sam's short term on Nellis Blvd. Sam's is dirt/gravel sites and surroundings, whereas Las Vegas RV Resort has black top roads and black top pull throughs, with large pebble rocks as land scape.

Had an electrical problem night before last. I was hooked up to 50 amp and only had half power. Switched the furnace to propane and decided to check out the connections in the morning. In the morning, went to the pedestal and decided to turn the breaker of and then on again. Everything started working. Later in the day, I lost one leg of power again that I noticed when we got back in around 6 p.m. Found a maintenance worker and they changed out the 50 Amp circuit breaker. The breaker that was in there had busted on one of the 'legs.' Everything working fine now.

I'd definately stay here again.

Well the last time I was in Vegas the Star Dust had a RV park behind the Casino that was in 1974 but it was expensive $12.50 a night and gas was a whopping $.79 a gallon. Don't know how I did it but it was fun, fun. GBY.....

If you have time, Red Rock Canyon is worth the drive as well (half hour out of town if I remember correctly). If you have a lot of time the Grand Canyon South Rim is only five hours away, that is definitely worth the drive if you haven't been there!!

Red Rock is on the agenda today, along with Liberace Museum.

Williams, AZ will be tomorrow's trip. Staying there for a few days. Either going to take a helicopter tour (DW's idea) or the train tour.

Thanks.

We are in Vegas also for the next week. Bought timeshares here 10 years ago and now that we have the Montana we question our 10 year old decision. However, we're right across from the new City within a City and that alone is amazing - the growth out here has slowed but you wouldn't know it with what you see. It is so busy!!!! The casinos and stores are packed! These people out here dont know about the economy being so in the dumps I guess.

You guys - knowing you dont have much more time out here - but if you like music there is a duelling piano bar at Paris called Napoleons and Wayne and I enjoy it very much! It is amazing what these two guys do with the piano. Come and see us - Wayne and I will be there tonight!!!

So sorry that we missed y'all. Guess I need to post a little earlier where I am and where I'm headed.

So here is a warning: We will be at the Railroad RV Park in Williams, AZ, beginning November 9 for 3 nights. May extend if we think it's worth it.

Next time y'all, next time. Will be pulling out of here between 9 and 10 a.m. on the 9th, so stop by for a quick chat and photo op!!!

Site 299.
