Many of the financial experts feel we are at or near the bottom of the economic spiral. The market seems to be settling down and those who were smart enough to get their money out and into safe haven before they lost to much can now look to a lower market and recoup once they feel it is at or near the bottom...I would say that Ford stock at @ 2.00 is recoup time... It will be a long road up and those who were devastated may never recover.

Some "good" sounding stuff I came across the last couple of days, and some ??? not so good sounding stuff:

headline in our local paper: Unemployment numbers not as bad as they have been.

housing market, those that can buy, are getting kick a$$ deals, houses they could not afford before, they can now. Pity the sellers tho, specially if they were counting on that higher price to fund any retirement. SIGH

we are having a gas pricing war, ohhh, ya, feels sooooo good! snicker. Gas yesterday in Adrian was $2.21, but by the time I came out from my shopping, it had dropped 2 more cents in one of the stations. Dang, I had grabbed some at the $2.21.

however, our favorite chocolate bar at Aldi, has been cut in half size and weight wise, but NOT cut in half price wise, quite a large increase acutally. BUMMER. Now that IS a disaster!!

This is terrible to say but the "Slowdown" in the economy has been advantages to us. Now we still are losing a ton of $ in our 401K but we do not use it for income and... as is said...it will come back. we saved much money on the trip down to Florida. fuel was way under budget. In fact it was the same or less than last year. C.G fees on the way down did not increase from last year so we were under budget on that and our lot fee here is less than last year.We are under budget big time all the way around. We still keep up every day with the finanical events . We are aware of the suffering of many folks around us and we do whatever we can to help.I wish we could, like so many others, pretend all was well...

My net worth has been cut in half and my wife is still with me.
Go figure.
Must be the traveling lifestyle.

"My net worth has been cut in half".. You had to say that Wayne.. I had my head in the sand on net worth.. Not only have we lost more on our 401K than many folks make but our home value has decreased by 30%, the shinny new 08 F-350 by no doubt 40% not to mention the 06 3400
and everything else we own.. I need a drink.....

She is looking for loop holes in the "for better or worse" part of the Marriage contract. It is HER 401K TSP plan that is taking the hit.
