Extended Warranty?

May I have some comments on picking an extended warranty company? We have Good Sam and it is up for renewal. Just looking for alternatives.

Thanks,

We haven't had to use ours yet and hope we don't. When it's up we intend to look at Good Sam just to have someone else to go to when and if there's a problem. Is there a reason you're looking other than price?

We have Rt66 . Have not had to use it. Cost about $1500. Our dealer sold out to Camping World. I asked about changing to GS. They said that they would honor it as is and renew under GS at expiration. I will go with them then.

We have Good Sam's Continuing Service Plan (CSP) and although we don't use it that often, it's there if we need it. Have had two claims against it, both for grey water leaks. No problem.

We went with Wholesale Warranties. After comparing several they seemed to have the best coverage & price. Good Sam would only sell 2 year warranty and cost went up each year after that. we got a 7 year from Wholesale Warranty and they covered everything. Fortunately I have not had to use them. I asked my dealer and they have had no complaints when dealing with them.

We had the RV shield warranty and we purchased it through wholesale warranties.Wholesale warranty is a agent and sells many different policies. We had the 7 year plan and it cost us 1100.00 back in 2006.We used it several times and had no problems what so ever. We went with the G.S extended warranty this time as the coverage was the same and the price was right for the 3 year warranty.

We purchased through Wholesale Warranties. Used it twice so far, first to replace the power converter and then the drive motor on the rear stabilizer. I didn't have to do anything except pay the deductible although the dealer did say the insurance company was questioning the high cost of the stabilizer motor which we all know is way to much but finally settled the claim.
I do believe Wholesale Warranties is just a broker so you may not end up with the same insurer. If I remember correctly we are dealing with First Performance?

I think mine is with Wholesale as well, although the paperwork is in the rig, which is in the shop as we speak! We have used it many times over the last 3 years, including the $3300 it is picking up this time. We also did 7 years, and I am glad we did.

Thanks to all for the informative feedback, really appreciate it. Looks like I will be giving Wholesale Warranties a try.

Remember Wholesale warranties is a Insurance broker just like your local Home or auto insurance agent. Be sure to ask them what Extended warranty you are buying then do the homework on that warranty.

Does anyone know if the extended warranty covers decals? We are 3.5 years into the 5 year period.

I find that my provider through Wholesale Warranty wants me to keep slips on products I use to lube rubber seals and anything else that the Factory Trailer Warranty wants me to do or have the dealer do so be careful and read everything and keep good records of your work.
