Campgrounds near Rockport, Texas

Can anyone suggest a campground near Rockport, Texas? We intend to camp there during December and January. Don't need it to be expensive just comfortable.

Although a late reply ... We've stayed at the Sanddollar towards the north end of Rockport. Many sites have concrete slabs ... some just sand. Dining places within a couple of miles as well as grocery store.

Sanddollar has a few nice lots, but there are lots of nicer parks here for around the same money. Do you want in town, out of town, near the water, and what sort of amenities would you like? Take a look here. Any questions, shoot me a PM.

We spent our first winter full timing in 2000 - 2001 from January 3 to April 3 at the Sea Breeze RV Park in Rockport. Nice CG; potluck every Thursday night. I don't remember the price but I didn't think it was too high then. Am sure it's probably higher now.

Sea Breeze? Only one I know of is in Portland, about 25 miles south of Rockport. We weren't here back then, perhaps there was a Sea Breeze here then.

SlickWillie,
You're correct. I mistook Rockport for Portland. That's why I dislike posting from memory. Mea culpa.

We stayed at the Drifters that is nice with concrete pads and lots of well trimmed grass. Not on the water but near everything--it is between Rockport and Ingleside. Our stays were in the summer but would stay there in the winter if I headed that way--we live in San Antonio.

Drifter's has just finished a new activity center....very large. They have some very nice cabins also. I've had family stay in them. It is one of the top parks in the area in my opinion.
