John; You might look at a drip system, less evaporation, lower water bill, no sprinkler heads to watch, etc.

Skip - The drip system is what was and is on the site now, I had someone test it out and I was told it had leaks everywhere. So I will have to elaluate this when we go down. See if it is worth repairing or I must replace it. But thank you for your suggestion, prehaps you can drop by and I will bribe you with coffee or something stronger... site 423 GreenGate Grove

Old Turbo,

We have done just that in the past, unofficially reserving the 3rd Thursday of each month from Nov thru April for MOC lunch or something.

Two years ago, I organized such fun stuff, and last year Marge did so.

WE NEED A VOLUNTEER for this year, maybe you would like to be the one!

You make reservations in a restuarant of choice, tell em to expect 25 to 45, then post it to the forum, new thread for each gathering, but here under this main heading.

Then stand back and have a great lunch!!!

You get to pick the eatery, or host a pot luck if you can find a building to have it in, some of the parks will allow you to use their buildings for such gatherings, you just have to ask around.

SO, you wanna be the organizer?? lots of fun!

Carol was a great hostess, she met with Sue and I, we came in from South Padre. Carol asked us a few questions as a group, who came the furthest, introduced ourselves, and so on. A very nice time.

Hey you all! Kim and Steve here. We are in MN with Mom who we are moving to Alabama. We were supposed to be in BPV in October but we had to change reservations to help Mom. We are planning on BPV in space 515 from Jan 15 to April 15. With any luck we will make it. Gotta get the Mom settled first and say Hi to the Alabama family. Missing all of you, so keep our space warm for us. Hugs Kim

We live at Gateway RV park in Raymondville. A great place with affordable prices, and you can pour all the concrete on your lot you want. Sheds are ok too. Most have golf carts, and lots of activities if you want to join in. Lots of people are getting Park Model trailers. I want to keep the Montana for a while. More room in it, and I take it home when I leave for the summer. Don't have to worry about hurricanes then.

Looks like a smaller crowd in the valley this year unless someone isn't going to let us know where they are staying.

The time to go is almost here. The time went by fast since last year. I am cleaning my basements and trying to take less than last year which was our first in the valley. We took a lot of stuff we did not use. Trying to get my wife to do the same. She packed like we would never find any stores in TX, she found things were cheaper in the valley. It will be interesting to see if any more parks will be bought up for development?

BILL & ANN. The rumor is that the park to the west of Donna along Highway 83, by the WalMart super center the one with the big white pipe with the name of the park on it was sold and will be a new Sams Club. If it was sold and it was not just a rumor it will be interesting to see where all those folks will go. I think that park had 300 sites or more. I was close to your home two weeks ago as I cut through Canada from Michigan to get to Vermont on the 402 to the 401 and then back. Toronto area is a trip on the weekends bumper to bumper traffic.

Heading out Friday morning. Austin for a week or so and will be visiting Driftwood gal and hubby there, then on to South Padre and some fish tacos at Dirty Al's.
See you guys and gals at Blackbeards some time.

Ozz, the new Garcias restaurant should be open on the Island. Will be interesting to see what meals will be like and the cost. The daughter of the owner of the original Garcias in Matamoros, Mexico will run the restaurant. Never had the Fish Tacos at Dirty Al's, will have to try them this year. Will get you the info on the Palmdale activitie director. Had a manager change at the park. We now have a manager-activity director all in one. She will have a lot of work to do at the park.
