Got the Bike hitch on

A major pain, but it's on.
I had it made in Three pieces, you drill the frame and bolt on the Two supports, one each side, the frame is Six feet across, outside to outside.
Then you swivel one bracket on one bolt, insert the (Heavy) cross member, and after marking Four bolt holes in the tube, drill them for the bolts that hold the tube in. I have 15 or so burn marks from the hot metal chips.
I have to increase the length of the male receiver on my bike rack I made because of the set back on the Montana's frame.
I'll get there.

I don't understand why Keystone is so hesitant to let us put a bike rack on, yet the Mounaineer comes with one as standard equipment...holds 200 lbs.

Hey Cat, great looking rig, In fact that truck of yours almost looks as good as a Ford.

Yes even the Cougar, a lower line than the Mountaineer comes with a slide out bike rack. I guess they figure if you want a rear fibreglass cap, you don't want to bring bikes along.

Ozz has it figured right to have both. Great Job Ozz, like usual. Take care.

How far back to the rear could you go Ozz. I noticed that the rear cap goes up under there good bit. Can you cut that and still have frame work there to mount too? I saw that Hidden Hitch offers one for motor homes that is adjustable up to 71.5 inches for $220.00 plus shipping. I have been hesitant on adding one not sure that it would work good or mount good enough. I will have to do the same for my receiver hitch as well in extending it, but not a problem.

Nice LQQKIN, same thing I have planed on doing after the warrant is gone this spring.

Didn't you say you purchased it at a local shop? Looks like a Draw Tite Hitch?

Roy,
It is made very stout, there would be no problem with The load you are planning. It would be capable of even pulling a small trailer if you wanted.
If you guys need one like this, and can't get one around your local, I can get it made and shipped to you, just let me know.
Probably around $300.00 or so.

Ozz,
Nice work! Did you end up having to relocate your stabilizer jacks, or could you sneak in behind them?

I will check on the tubing, it's pretty thick.
I removed the rear bolt, overlapped the mount where the bolt was, drilled new holes in the mounting brackets into the frame, and shimmed the bracket up to the frame so it would be level.

Ozz, is there any thing that I have planned you have not done? Or got to first? I'm going to look into doing something similar. I see a part number sticker in one of your pics, is that just the end plate or was this a kit?

Thought I'd post a few pictures of my hitch ... bolted direct to the I-Beams it's stout. I used 1/4" walled 2.5" square tubing with 3/8" thick 4" angle fabbed for the end plates. The "tounge" is 18" from the back of the square tube to the center of the ball with a 1/4" steel plate gusset welded on top where it meets the main tube. The bicycle rack is a 2 place Reese that originally was designed to bolt to the ball hole on the tounge. It was modified and welded direct to the tounge with a brace for extra measure. It clears the end cap by about 1.5", but obviously doesn't wobble. This was all wire feed welded. I didn't have a need for a receiver hitch, so this is what I ended up building.

15 years ago, I'd said yes. Today's society produces way to much liability issues. Just speaking in general here no offense meant.

Thank you, Bob and Pam.
I fear that I am the lucky one, having my sweet Sue.
She is very creative, she sews and makes jewelry, Sue is self taught making beautiful quilts and little sewing thingies.
