Yep, we are heading home tomorrow morning (Monday). When we heard the weather report from San Antonio and Austin (freezing rain) we were glad we stayed over a couple of extra nights. We have had a wonderfull time and especially enjoyed meeting our Montana friends. It so happens that it was a first time for everyone -- we have met several Montana Owners previously, but none with whom we enjoyed this time in the Valley.

I expect I have said enough about the subject, but I have posted some maps on my web site. Fair warning: these are big files because of the detail on the maps. You might want to view them only when you have time. These relate to routes from the Valley through East Texas.

Pulled into the drive way a little after 5PM. Misty rain most of the way home and a harder rain the last twenty miles. The Monty is definitely is going to need a bath when it warms up. We enjoyed our stay in the RGV and meeting all the folks down there. Looking forward to doing it again next year.

Well, we made it to Bryan. Came up 77, Alt77, 77 to TX 21 through Bryan. Staying tonight at Morino Road RV Park, just East of Bryan on TX 21 (WIFI is $2.00, and we have a very strong signal). Will follow 21 tomorrow to Madisonville and I-45, then pick up US 79.

Misty all the way. Never really rain, but never really dry. Like Charlie, I will have a clean up job when we get home and the weather warms up a bit.

The weather was not so great in the Valley, but the fellowship with friends was great!

That has brightened our path for a while

Just to report that we are not responsible for "taking the sunshine" out of the Rio Grande Valley. In fact, we have not seen one minute of sunshine since we left there yesterday morning. We drove in 'mist' and fog all 600 miles, but we had a good trip and arrived safely here just over an hour ago (11:30).

I will be posting a 'travelogue' a bit later, but to our friends in the Valley we can most truly say "You have brightened our path for a while".

BTW, I'm not sure which "Red River Valley" inspired those lyrics above, but we are now a lot closer to the Texas/Oklahoma Red River Valley than we are to the Rio Grande.

Threw that together after we got home. May not be as finished as I might like, but I decided to strike while the iron was hot. And just to be clear, we did none of those fantastic things on this trip home, except to cover the miles of that route exactly as I logged it. Look forward to seeing you and Al again before too long.

Good to meet up with you both, and thanks again for the many tips you have provided me.
(I now have my Trojan T-105's, the BlueSea battery box, and a BlueSea battery switch; so now all I need is some time to put it all together).
