B & W hitches

A buddy of mine has a B & W hitch that was purchased about the time I bought mine, he was by yesterday to pick up a trailer I have been storing for him. He has, just recently had to replace the base and the two upright arms on his B & W hitch because they were warped, cracked and breaking. Might be something to keep an eye on. We did notice that the metal in the new base and arms was thicker, especially in the arms. Just sayin.

Is the B&W hitch you are talking about the COMPANION hitch that uses the turnoverball in the bed or the PATRIOT hitch with mounting rails in the bed? I have been using the B&W COMPANION hitch that uses the turnoverball in the bed because I also pull a gooseneck stock trailer. Have used the hitch with a 5th wheel for three years with no problems at all.

Could there be any chance he has altered the point of pivot for any pin box pulled with this hitch? I am moving ours to new TV on Monday and will check it out. Thanks for the information.
