Glacier National Park CG
After we're done at the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone, we're headed to Glacier National and then Teddy Roosevelt. Any suggestions for CG's in Glacier and TR?

If you are going to stay in the park try Apgar campground. It is big and there is a convenience store near by. It also has an ampitheatre for summer programs.

Madora ND has a couple of camp grounds, can't remember which one we stayed at. But they are close to TR NP.

If you're going to the West Glacier side, we enjoyed the West Glacier KOA (signature pic). It's the only place I know but I would go back again. We picked a grassy spot, but there are also heavy wooded spots. The facilities, folks, and on-site BBQ were great, not to mention the huckleberry ice cream.

For TRNP, the campground right in Medora is an adequate place. We didn't spend a lot of time there. We spent our time in park, about a mile away. There is a very entertaining musical at Medora.
If I am remembering correctly, it may be a Passport America CG. But I might be misremembering.

We were just there at the East Entrance and stayed in Johnson's at St. Mary's. It is a OK park, there is a KOA there that has larger spaces, but Johnson's has better views. We just got to Yellowstone yesterday, are you still here?

We stayed in the CG right in Medora, did the Park (buffalo, wild horses, and lots of prairie dogs), saw the musical (neat), and did breakfast at the Cowboy Cafe (great!). Also hiked to see the petrified forest. The musical may not be running by the time you get there, but check. We, too, stayed on east side of Glacier at Johnson's in St. Mary. By all means, go to Waterton NP while you're there to see the Prince of Wales Hotel and the view. Very nice. Good place for lunch, too. Enjoy!

Thanks for the replies. Doug, we leave tomorrow and will not be to Yellowstone until next week. Visiting relatives in Colorado first. We will probably be in Yellowstone a week from today. Hoping to stay at Cooke City again.

Ditto what others have said about Johnson's in St Mary. We also spent a week in Hungry Horse on the West side. St. Mary, on the east side, is less developed because it is on the Blackfeet Reservation. We liked both sides for different reasons.

Am I too late and you're already enroute? We stayed at Mountain Meadow RV Park in Hungry Horse, on the west side. We loved that park and stayed a month. We'd go back there and will some day.
Would you email me your thoughts about the Theodore Roosevelt NP when you get back? That's one I really want to get to that we've not yet seen. Thanks.
